Earthquake damage public adjuster for denied or underpaid claims
Accurate Claims Consulting represents policyholders, not insurers, after an earthquake cracks a foundation, shifts a house, brings down a chimney or breaks what was inside. We read your earthquake policy or endorsement, document the structural and contents damage, and negotiate the claim with your insurance company. You pay nothing up front: we only get paid when your insurance company pays the claim.

Who we help after an earthquake
Earthquakes are a concern everywhere in California, and the damage ranges from hairline cracks to a home knocked off its foundation. We represent:
- Homeowners with foundation, chimney, wall and ceiling cracks, a house shifted on its foundation, broken pipes, or contents that fell and broke
- Landlords and owners of multi-unit buildings, including carports, parking structures and units that can no longer be lived in
- Business and industrial property owners with damaged masonry, storefronts or equipment (see commercial claims and industrial claims)
Make sure everyone is safe first; then talk to us, even if the insurer has already sent a low estimate or closed the claim.
What our clients say about representation
let’s just say one of the best decisions I’ve made in a long time was letting Accurate Claims experts represent me against my insurance company.
Steven Sannem, Google review
Insurer-side training, policyholder-side loyalty. Our public adjusters have worked for major insurance companies like Farmers, State Farm and Allstate, which gives them inside knowledge of what you are owed for your claim. Each has a Bachelor’s degree at minimum, and some are US military veterans. About Accurate Claims Consulting
How we handle an earthquake damage claim

- Read the earthquake coverage. We start with your earthquake policy or endorsement, its deductible and its separate limits for the dwelling, contents and living expenses.
- Document the structure. We photograph and measure cracks, shifted framing, chimney and foundation damage, and damage that only shows inside walls and crawl spaces.
- Value the repairs and contents. We estimate the structural repair at real construction costs and list belongings that broke or fell.
- Negotiate the estimate. We compare the insurer’s estimate line by line with the repairs the building needs and press for what is missing.
- Settle with no out-of-pocket cost. Our fee is contingent on the insurer paying your claim.
What insurers dispute on earthquake claims

Does the estimate cover the real cost of repair?
Earthquake repairs often reach the foundation, framing and chimney, where an estimate built from a quick walk-through falls short. We check every line against the repair the building actually needs, at current construction costs.
Is a low or closed claim final?
No. If your earthquake settlement came in far lower than expected, the claim can be reviewed, documented again and presented to the insurer for reconsideration.
Are broken belongings part of the claim?
If your policy includes contents coverage, yes. Photograph broken items before you throw them away and build a room-by-room list; our guide to building a personal property inventory shows how.

Licensing and where we work
Earthquake claims in California are handled by public adjusters licensed through the California Department of Insurance, which also takes consumer questions and complaints about claims. Arizona property owners can reach the Arizona Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions.

An earthquake can break water lines and start fires, so many of these claims overlap with water damage and fire damage claims. We also handle mold damage, storm damage, theft and vandalism and personal property claims.
Earthquake damage claim questions
What does a public adjuster do on an earthquake claim?
We act for you, not your insurer. We read your earthquake coverage, document the structural and contents damage, estimate the repairs and negotiate the settlement.
How much do you charge for an earthquake claim?
There is no up-front charge. We are paid a share of what the insurer pays, on a 100% contingency basis, and the first conversation is free.
Does my homeowners policy cover earthquake damage?
Check your declarations page. Earthquake damage is generally insured under a separate earthquake policy or endorsement, with its own deductible and limits. We read whichever coverage you have before the claim goes in.
What should I do first after an earthquake?
Make sure everyone is safe, then photograph the damage inside and out, keep broken items until they are documented, and keep receipts for emergency repairs and any hotel stay.
My earthquake settlement was lower than expected. What now?
Talk to us. We review the insurer’s estimate against the actual repairs and ask the insurer to reconsider with new documentation.
Do you handle earthquake claims for apartment and commercial buildings?
Yes. We represent landlords, owners of multi-unit buildings and commercial and industrial owners as well as homeowners.
Where can I verify a public adjuster’s license?
The California Department of Insurance offers a license check on its website. Ask the adjuster for a license number before you sign.
Which states do you serve?
Our office is in Studio City, and we take claims in California, Arizona, Connecticut and Georgia.
