Storm damage public adjuster for denied or underpaid claims
Accurate Claims Consulting works for the policyholder when wind, a fallen tree, heavy rain or a monsoon storm damages a roof, walls or the inside of a home or business. We inspect and document the storm damage, check how your policy treats the roof and the deductible, and negotiate with your insurer. You pay nothing up front: we only get paid when your insurance company pays the claim.

Who we help after storm damage
Storm claims start with a roof, a tree or a ceiling stain. We represent:
- Homeowners with wind-torn or cracked roofing, a tree on the house, rain coming in through a damaged roof or wall, or monsoon dust and water in Arizona
- Landlords and owners of multi-unit homes, for example when a tenant sends a video of water coming through the ceiling after a storm
- Business and industrial property owners with storm damage to commercial roofs and buildings (see commercial claims and industrial claims)
It is not too late if the insurer has already paid a small amount or turned the claim down.
What our storm and roof clients say
Although my insurance gave a lot of pushback because they just didn’t want to pay for it. Ultimately, I received a brand new roof for FREE.
Vanessa Mitchell, Google review (roof leak)
Insurer-side training, policyholder-side loyalty. Our public adjusters have worked for major insurance companies like Farmers, State Farm and Allstate, which gives them inside knowledge of what you are owed for your claim. Each has a Bachelor’s degree at minimum, and some are US military veterans. About Accurate Claims Consulting
How we handle a storm damage claim

- Record the storm and the date. We note when the damage was found and what the weather did, and photograph every slope, penetration and interior stain.
- Inspect what the ground cannot show. Cracked or lifted tiles and torn underlayment, damaged flashing and water that traveled along the framing all go into the file.
- Price the repair properly. We estimate the roof, the interior water damage, fallen-tree removal where the policy covers it, and your damaged belongings.
- Check the deductible and roof terms. We read the declarations page and the roof provisions before we negotiate, so there are no surprises.
- Settle with no up-front fee. We are paid on contingency, out of what the insurance company pays.
What insurers dispute on storm damage claims

Was it the storm, or an old roof?
Tile roofs can crack, slip or lift without looking broken from the ground, and the underlayment below them does the real waterproofing. A qualified inspector’s written report with photos of every slope, made before the next storm, keeps the cause of the damage clear. Our article on monsoon storm damage claims in Phoenix and Tucson goes into detail.
Is a small payment the end of the claim?
Not necessarily. The roof-leak client quoted above was first given $1,000 toward the repair; with us handling the claim, it ended with a full roof replacement.
Why did the leak show up weeks later?
Water that gets in through a damaged roof or wall can run along the framing before it shows, so a ceiling stain may appear rooms away and only after a later storm. Walk the house after every significant storm and write down the date you first see each stain.
Which deductible and roof provisions apply?
Some Arizona policies carry a separate wind or hail deductible set as a percentage of dwelling coverage, and cosmetic-damage wording or an actual cash value roof endorsement can cut a roof payment. We read those terms with you before the claim is filed.

Licensing and where we work
Storm claims in California are handled by public adjusters licensed by the California Department of Insurance; policyholders can contact the department directly about a claim they think is being mishandled. On Arizona properties, insurers are overseen by the Arizona Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions.

Rain that gets past a damaged roof becomes a water damage claim, and if it sits, a mold damage claim. We also handle fire damage, earthquake damage, theft and vandalism and personal property claims.
Storm damage claim questions
What does a public adjuster do on a storm damage claim?
We represent you, not the insurance company. We document the roof, exterior and interior damage, price the repairs, review the policy and negotiate the settlement for you.
What does it cost to hire you after a storm?
Nothing up front. We are paid a percentage of the settlement on a full contingency basis, and the initial consultation is free.
Should I climb on the roof to look at the damage?
No. Use a qualified inspector, ask for photos of every slope and penetration, and get the findings in writing.
What should I write down after a storm?
The date and time you found the damage and what you saw and heard, such as strong wind, heavy dust or sudden rain. You do not need to name the storm or guess at a wind speed.
My insurer paid only part of the roof. Can you help?
Yes. We reopen underpaid roof claims, including one where the insurer had paid $1,000 toward a roof leak and the owner ended up with a new roof.
Do you represent landlords and businesses on storm claims?
Yes. Rental owners, multi-unit buildings, commercial and industrial properties are all part of our storm work.
How can I look up an adjuster’s license?
For California, the California Department of Insurance offers an online license status check. Get the adjuster’s license number before you sign.
In which states do you handle storm claims?
From our Studio City office we represent policyholders in California, Arizona, Connecticut and Georgia.
