Mold damage public adjuster for denied or underpaid claims
Accurate Claims Consulting represents homeowners and property owners, never the insurer, when mold follows a broken pipe, a hidden leak, a roof leak or a sewage backup. We trace the water source, document the growth and the damage behind it, and negotiate the removal and rebuild with your insurance company. You pay nothing up front: we only get paid when your insurance company pays the claim.

Who we help with mold claims
Mold rarely appears on its own; it follows water. We take mold claims for:
- Homeowners who find mold after a pipe break, a leak under the sink or in the crawl space, a roof leak or a sewage backup
- Landlords and owners of multi-unit homes, including units where a tenant reports mold on walls or ceilings
- Business and industrial property owners (our commercial claims and industrial claims pages explain how we work with businesses)
Reach out as soon as you see growth, whether or not the insurer has been notified yet.
What our mold and leak clients say
My wife and I recommend not trying to handle such a claim loss without the assistance of a professional. In this case, Accurate Claims Consulting should be the first call you make after knowing you need help.
john turner, Google review (water and sewage damage)
My insurance company was not responsive and I was living without water and desperate to get the situation resolved.
Elizabeth Cate, Google review (leak under the house)
Recent mold damage claim result
- Kitchen water leak with mold, Beverly Hills (April 2021). The policyholders came home from a long weekend to a broken pipe in their crawl space; the leak under the kitchen cabinets caused water damage and mold. The insurer offered $8,500, and we negotiated a $125,000 settlement. Beverly Hills kitchen leak case
Insurer-side training, policyholder-side loyalty. Our public adjusters have worked for major insurance companies like Farmers, State Farm and Allstate, which gives them inside knowledge of what you are owed for your claim. Each has a Bachelor’s degree at minimum, and some are US military veterans. About Accurate Claims Consulting
How we handle a mold damage claim

- Find the water source. We trace the leak, overflow or roof failure behind the mold and photograph it, because the policy looks at what caused the growth.
- Document the growth. We photograph affected walls, cabinets, crawl spaces and belongings before removal starts.
- Price removal and rebuild. We estimate the removal, drying and rebuilding of walls, cabinets and floors, plus the contents that cannot be saved.
- Answer the insurer. We respond to questions about the source, the timing and any mold limit written into the policy.
- Settle on contingency. You owe no fee unless the insurance company pays the claim.
What insurers dispute on mold claims

Did a covered water loss cause the mold?
This is the first question an insurer asks. On the Beverly Hills claim above, the growth traced back to a broken pipe the owners discovered after a long weekend away, and documenting that pipe break was central to the settlement.
Was the water dried out in time?
Prolonged moisture can lead to mold growth in a matter of days, which is why water and mold have to be handled on different timelines. Keep the dates, photos and invoices for every step of the dry-out. Our water damage claims page covers that side of the loss.
Does the claim include what has to be opened up?
Mold behind cabinets or inside walls cannot be removed without taking materials out and rebuilding them. Those costs, damaged belongings and your living costs while the work is done all belong in the claim; our guide to building a personal property inventory helps with the contents.

Licensing and where we work
California public adjusters, including ours, are licensed by the California Department of Insurance, and its consumer help pages are where to turn with a question or complaint about a mold claim. Arizona insurers answer to the Arizona Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions.

Because mold follows water, many of our mold files start as water damage claims or storm damage claims. We also handle fire damage, earthquake damage, theft and vandalism and personal property claims.
Mold damage claim questions
What does a public adjuster do on a mold claim?
We work only for the policyholder. We trace the water source, document the mold and the damage it caused, estimate removal and rebuilding, and negotiate the settlement with your insurer.
How are you paid on a mold claim?
On a 100% contingency basis: there is no up-front cost, and our fee comes from the settlement. Your first consultation costs nothing.
Is mold covered by my homeowners policy?
It depends on the policy wording and on what caused the mold. Mold that follows a sudden water loss, such as a broken pipe, is treated differently from mold caused by long-term humidity, and some policies cap mold at a set amount. We read your policy before you file.
How fast should I act when I find mold?
Quickly. Stop the water if you can, photograph the growth and the source, and do not throw anything away before it is documented. Then call us.
The insurer made a low offer. Can you still help?
Yes. In a Beverly Hills mold and water claim the insurer offered $8,500, and we negotiated $125,000.
Do you take mold claims for rentals and businesses?
Yes. We represent landlords, owners of multi-unit buildings and commercial and industrial owners as well as homeowners.
How do I confirm a public adjuster is licensed?
In California, use the license lookup from the California Department of Insurance, and ask the adjuster for a license number before you sign a contract.
Where is your office, and where do you work?
Our office is in Studio City. We take claims in California, Arizona, Connecticut and Georgia.
